    Job Description:

    The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing a wide range of financial functions, including the preparation and analysis of financial reports, coordination of audits, and compliance with tax regulations. Reporting directly to the CFO, the role will support day-to-day cash management, job costing, and the development of key financial metrics. Additional duties include payroll oversight, benefit plan reporting, insurance monitoring, and maintaining banking relationships.

    This individual will also play a role in preparing tax filings, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring accurate financial reporting across benefit programs and retirement plans. The position requires active participation in change management initiatives, supporting internal control enhancements, and adopting best practices in accounting technologies.

    Key areas of responsibility include:
    • Preparing and analyzing financial statements and operational metrics
    • Performing detailed cash flow analysis and projections
    • Assisting with job cost reviews, asset tracking, and shareholder distributions
    • Supporting year-end audits and internal control processes
    • Ensuring timely and accurate tax filings across multiple jurisdictions
    • Assisting with payroll processing, compliance, and related tax reporting
    • Overseeing group insurance and retirement benefit plan reporting and compliance
    • Managing financial activities related to family trust administration
    • Reviewing and improving financial systems and banking services
    • Staying informed on changes in accounting standards and compliance regulations

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, financial management, or a similar role
    • Strong proficiency in financial reporting tools and accounting software
    • Advanced Excel skills (including pivot tables and complex formulas)
    • Experience with audit coordination, tax reporting, and payroll systems
    • Solid understanding of federal and state tax laws and compliance standards
    • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills
    • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
    • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
    • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams

    • Lead monthly consolidation processes and financial statement preparation for multiple entities
    • Manage complex general ledger functions including intercompany transactions, fixed assets, and lease accounting

    • Prepare journal entries, bank reconciliations, and monthly accruals

    Qualifications:

    Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
    • 3+ years of general accounting experience
    • Strong knowledge of GAAP
    • Advanced Excel skills and experience with accounting software systems
    • Excellent analytical, communication, and time management skills
    • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
    • Must pass background check

    Preferred:
    • Multi-entity accounting and consolidation experience
    • ERP system experience
    • Multi-state tax compliance knowledge
