Job Description:

Responsible for overseeing and managing the company’s tax-related activities in the federal, state, and local jurisdictions. This role involves ensuring compliance with tax regulations, optimizing the company’s tax position, and providing strategic tax planning. The Tax Manager will work closely with internal teams, auditors, external tax advisers, and tax authorities to ensure accurate and timely reporting.

Essential Functions

Tax Compliance:

Stay abreast of tax laws and regulations to ensure the company’s compliance.

Prepare and review all tax filings, including corporate income tax returns, sales tax, and other applicable tax returns.

Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors as necessary.

 

 

Tax Planning and Strategy:

Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize the company’s tax position.

Provide guidance on potential tax implications of business decisions and initiatives.

Analyze the impact of new tax laws on the company and recommend appropriate actions.

Serve as the primary tax adviser to the CFO and owners as it relates to optimizing the company’s tax filings and their submissions.

Financial Reporting:

Collaborate with the finance and accounting teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting related to taxes.

Reconcile tax accounts and maintain documentation for financial audits.

Audit Support:

Act as the main point of contact for tax-related inquiries during external and internal audits.

Prepare and provide necessary documentation to auditors to support tax positions.

Risk Management:

Identify and assess potential tax risks and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.

Implement internal controls to ensure the accuracy of tax-related information.

Collaboration:

Serve as the primary point of contact with the Company External tax advisers, integrating closely with them tax planning and compliance.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to gather necessary information and support for tax-related activities.

Communicate effectively with external tax advisors, auditors, and tax authorities.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred.

4-6 years of experience in tax compliance and planning, preferably with focus on partnership tax compliance and reporting.

Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

Proficient in tax software and Microsoft Excel.
