Job Description:
This role oversees the day-to-day operations of the surveying department and provides guidance to both office and field personnel. The Survey Department Manager will coordinate and assign field crews, supervise licensed surveyors and drafting staff, and ensure projects are delivered accurately and on schedule. Responsibilities include preparing bids, securing new survey work, and maintaining strong communication with clients, contractors, and internal teams. The ideal candidate brings a solid understanding of various survey types and can effectively manage workflow, quality, and departmental performance.
Qualifications:
• Active Missouri Professional Land Surveyor license (PLS) required; an Illinois license is highly advantageous.
• Broad experience with multiple survey disciplines such as boundary, ALTA/NSPS land title, topographic, as-built, and construction staking.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to manage staff, schedules, and project timelines.
