Job Description:
The Part-Time Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with company policies and government regulations.
Key responsibilities include:
• Preparing and processing payroll within the payroll accounting transaction cycle.
• Managing payroll deductions, garnishments, and benefits tracking.
• Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
• Reviewing bi-weekly payroll reports to verify accuracy, including tax withholdings and employee deductions.
• Assisting with month-end closing processes and account reconciliations.
• Supporting payroll tax reporting, including reviewing federal and state tax returns and W-2s for accuracy.
• Maintaining employee payroll records and ensuring proper documentation.
• Assisting with audits and responding to payroll-related inquiries.
• Performing other payroll-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience.
• Experience handling payroll for organizations with 1,000+ employees is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax regulations, and compliance requirements.
• Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Excel.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
