Job Description:
The Cash Applications Specialist is responsible for accurately applying and reconciling incoming payments while maintaining compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Performing cash application reconciliations between accounting software and internal data management systems
• Importing, reviewing, and processing batch check transactions
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts and researching discrepancies
• Reviewing batch transactions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness
• Managing trust accounting activities, including oversight of multiple bank accounts and related transactions
• Maintaining detailed and compliant records for all trust-related financial activity
• Utilizing technology and automation tools, including AI-driven solutions, to improve accounting workflows
• Serving as a point of contact for internal stakeholders, clients, and attorneys regarding cash-related inquiries
• Communicating professionally while maintaining strict confidentiality of financial and client information
• Supporting audits, reporting requests, and special projects as needed
Qualifications:
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• Two (2) or more years of experience in cash applications, accounts receivable, or general accounting
• Strong understanding of cash posting, reconciliations, and balance sheet accounts
• Experience with accounting software; familiarity with QuickBooks Online preferred
• High level of attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills
• Comfort working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
• Authorization to work in the United States
