Job Description:

The Part-Time Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the accounting functions of the organization. This includes managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, processing payroll (if applicable), preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting procedures and relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
• Record day-to-day financial transactions in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including issuing invoices and following up on payments.
• Reconcile bank and credit card statements monthly.
• Maintain the general ledger and perform journal entries as needed.
• Assist in preparation of financial statements and reports.
• Support payroll processing and benefits administration, as required.
• Coordinate with external accountants or tax preparers for quarterly and annual filings.
• Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements.
• Maintain organized and up-to-date digital and physical financial records.

Qualifications:

Required:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of 2 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.
• Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar platforms.
• Strong attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic office applications.

Preferred:
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Experience in a small business, nonprofit, or multi-entity environment.
• Familiarity with payroll systems and/or HRIS platforms.
