Job Description:
- Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and monitoring for the organization, presenting regular updates to CEO, department directors, funding agencies, and the board
- Act as a financial advisor, ensuring departmental spending aligns with legal and budgetary guidelines
- Work with the CEO to provide cost analysis, budgetary advice, and compliance with all contractual and program requirements
- Manage accounts payable and receivable, and ensure a disaster recovery plan is in place
- Spearhead new funding initiatives and develop internal financial control systems
- Oversee banking activities and automate financial tools to optimize workflows
- Ensure adequate cash flow to meet organizational needs
- Attend board meetings, lead the Finance committee, and report on company’s financial status and strategies
- Prepare monthly financial statements and cash flow estimates for executive management
- Understand the financial impact of business decisions, prepare growth reports, and implement risk management controls
- Supervise the Finance department staff, with a focus on performance improvement
- Participate in statewide behavioral health CFO committee meetings
- Keep updated on new regulations, participate in professional opportunities, and engage with professional networks
Qualifications
- 10 years minimum of progressive finance/accounting experience
- 5 years minimum of experience in a financial management/supervisory role
- Masters degree in accounting, finance, business administration, required
- Not-for profit experience strongly preferred
- CPA designation is preferred
