Job Title: Controller

Travel: Domestic travel required at times (up to 10%)

POSITION SUMMARY: Must possess outstanding analytical skills, strong communication skills (both verbal and written) and a proven problem-solving capability.

Responsible for various month end closing activities.

Responsible for preparation of various financial activities including data gathering, planning, account reconciliation and reporting.

Collect information from various areas across the company used for reconciliation of key accounts and business modeling.

Contribute to the annual budgeting process, the periodic forecast process, and other initiatives as they arise.

Have the skills and confidence not only to contribute but to own processes and analyses.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

 Responsible for advanced functions of the accounting cycle including journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, monthly close activities, and monthly reporting analytics.

ontribute to the reporting commitments of the finance function to its various stakeholders and internal customers

Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information for plant manufacturing management teams

Responsible to review standard costing model and determine annual labor and overhead rates.

Control the review process for capital expenditures including the review of payback calculation for reasonableness and accuracy and ensures expenditure is within spending targets.

Review site productivity savings for accuracy to ensure site is meeting the goal of continuous improvement.

Proactively drives analysis around business performance by making sense of raw data, completing root cause analysis and understanding key drivers

Exercises independent judgement within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate actions

Maintain an effective and efficient internal control environment supporting the corporate functions including financial reporting, account reconciliation, and business modeling.

Assist with aspects of internal and external financial audits.

Participate in year end physical inventory to ensure accurate financial results are obtained.

Play a key role in driving process improvement projects across the team and organization.

All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent; 

A minimum of five years of accounting experience in roles that require analytical experience. (Equivalent combination of education and experience will be accepted.)

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Suite Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and Kronos.
