Position Overview:
Maintains accounting records for the corporate operations, including support for journal entries, general ledger analysis and reconciliations. Applies principles of US GAAP accounting to accurately record and report financial information, prepare financial reports and query the data warehouse to provide analytical insights.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare general ledger entries.
: Prepares monthly reconciliation of accounts including appropriate supporting documentation.
: Daily accounting and monthly close procedures are completed timely and accurately.
: Effectively utilize financial reporting tools to improve the efficiency of the reconciliation, journal entry and close processes.
: Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
: Collects appropriate data and prepares federal, state, and local government surveys.
: Communicates with corporate and branch personnel as it relates to accounting and finance questions and resolves issues.
: Provide necessary support for external auditors.
: Identifies, designs and implements accounting process improvements and efficiencies.
: Performs ad hoc reports and special projects as needed.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
: Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
: Minimum 2-5 years in accounting.
: Public accounting experience a plus.
: Team player with a positive attitude towards contributing and learning.
: Ability to work well independently and in a team environment.
: Strong verbal/written communication skills.
: Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
: Self-starter, quick study and ability to multi-task on a regular basis.
: Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills and deadline driven.
: Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office products, including strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Ability to construct and manipulate pivot tables and look ups a plus.
: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
: Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Writing and speaking skills must be appropriate to a professional environment, including the ability to construct persuasive positions and communicate complex concepts in an easily understood manner.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to comprehend and apply algebraic and statistical principles. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques and sampling theory.


OTHER SKILLS/CERTIFICATION - CPA or other professional accounting certification is a plus. Knowledge of ERP systems and query tools is essential.


REASONING ABILITY - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables when addressing unique or unfamiliar challenges. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
