Tax Manager

. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Quarterly ASC 740 tax provision; respond to outside auditors, internal auditors, and management requests.

  • State and local income tax compliance, defend positions upon audit, reconcile tax returns to tax provision.

  • State estimated payments; communicate tax payments to Treasury

  • State apportionment including calculation of throwback; analysis of market based versus cost of performance treatment; analysis of state tax exposure to determine whether new filings are necessary.

  • Assist the subsidiaries with non-income state and local tax matters including technical research, audits, notices and state registration.

  • Identify and implement tax planning, tax credit and incentive projects.

  • Conduct M&A tax due diligence, assist with the preparation of M&A agreements, opening balance sheet work, modeling the impact to state tax and overall integration.

Primary Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (advanced degree and/or CPA is a plus)

  • Minimum of one year of Manager-level state income tax and tax provision experience in public accounting and/or a corporate tax department

  • Federal income tax experience is a plus

  • Self-starter who takes ownership of responsibilities and can work independently while collaborating with the tax team and other departments

  • Effective written and verbal communication skillsets

  • Solid analytical, technical, and organizational skills

  • Proficient with Microsoft office, tax research tools and tax processing software (OneSource preferred)
