Job Title: Staff/Senior Accountant Type: Exempt
Reports to: CFO Status: Full-Time
Department: Accounting/Finance Hours: Salaried

Duties and Responsibilities:

Accounting/Finance

Primary responsibility for:

  • Preparing accounting related entries to numerous journals, registers and logs;

  • Assisting with all month end closing procedures;

  • Preparing month end account reconciliations;

  • Preparing weekly cash flow summaries and forecasts.;

  • Producing and distributing weekly key performance indicators;

  • Processing and paying accounts payable invoices;

  • Processing payroll;

  • Implementing appropriate internal controls over processes and procedures;

  • Preparing annual departmental budgets;

  • Staying updated on changes, laws and regulations that specifically relate to GAAP;

  • Generating analyses and reports for the company' s   executives;

  • Attending all required staff trainings;

  • Preparing documentation for external auditors;

  • Preparing documentation for external tax preparers;

  • Performing other duties as assigned by the CFO.

Information Technology (IT)

Optional responsibility, if qualified, for:

  • Becoming Super-user for various Company software applications and interacting with end users to ensure peak performance;

  • Working with independent contractors for the IT, software and wireless providers.

  • Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor' s degree in accounting from accredited college/university;

  • CPA or intent to pass the CPA exam.

  • Able to read and understand technical forms, legal documents and financial reports;

  • Willingness to establish and maintain effective working relationships;

  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems, and correct errors;

  • Maintains productivity and work independently.

Language Skills

Excellent command of the English language in communicating both verbally and non-verbally;
  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, members and the general public.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions and decimals

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram format;
  Ability to handle conflicting ideas and controversies and communicate information diplomatically.
