Staff Accountant

Job Description Summary
The Accountant will support the financial close processes for the company. This role will have the opportunity to learn steady state processes and have a voice in recommending new redesigns or improvements. This person will also be a change agent to help the Company' s controllership function prepare for public company readiness and assist with accounting for acquisitions. He/she will contribute to the development and maintenance of a robust controls environment for the operations and compliance with GAAP and Company accounting policies.

Responsibilities

  • Perform regular and recurring accounting functions requiring professional competency

  • Establish appropriate procedures for preparation of accounting records, research of transactions, and reporting

  • Prepare, review, and analyze journal entries to the general ledger ensuring data integrity and accuracy

  • Review and approve work prepared by the FSC

  • Partner with the Accenture outsourcing team to ensure daily accounting and close procedures are completed timely and accurately.

  • Research and respond to internal and external accounting/financial questions and resolve issues

  • Assist in ensuring key internal controls and effective accounting policies are in place.

  • Effectively utilize the Company' s financial reporting tools (Workday, Salesforce, AS400, Peoplesoft, and HFM) to improve the efficiency of the monthly close processes

  • Be an enthusiastic ambassador of the company culture to support the continued integration of the legacy firms

Requirements:

  • Bachelor' s degree in Accounting

  • 2+ years of experience in accounting roles, preferably with financial close experience

  • Experience with ERP' s and database software packages

  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel

  • Strong problem-solving ability

  • Effective and efficient time management and organization skills

  • Detail oriented and thorough

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Self-directed individual who is comfortable working in a team environment

  • Ability to quickly adapt and learn in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high initiative, flexibility and team approach to work


Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA

  • Public Accounting experience
