The Staff Accountant works on projects and matters of limited complexity in a support role. The position assists with month-end close, journal entry preparation, monthly reconciliations, GL account analysis, periodic head office reporting and special projects.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
: Assists more senior accountants in preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports.
: Compiles and analyzes financial data.
: Maintains and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded and entries to general ledger accounts are accurate.
: Assists in documentation and internal control of core lending systems activity, including proper documentation of daily reporting, journal entry, and reconciliation.
: Validates system output for internally created statements.
: Assists with monthly head office reporting.
: Works toward familiarity of IFRS requirements.
: Work is closely managed by a senior colleague or manager.
: Complete all mandatory training within a timely basis, as instructed.
: Comply with code of conduct & Bank policies/procedures.
: Actively identify incidents outside of established policies & procedures and report to management immediately.
: Familiar with & comply with laws, regulations, and internal policies & procedures that are applicable to required job duties.
: Understand & comply with all anti-money laundering (AML), compliance, and all other applicable laws, including, but not limited to, the completion of all required AML & Sanctions training.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
: Moderate experience with Microsoft Excel, including mid-high level function knowledge. Experience with Pivot tables.

: Provides relevant, timely and accurate internal reporting to senior management of the company, as requested and within deadlines.

: Associate' s Degree with 2 to 5 years of experience
: Bachelor' s Degree with 0 to 2 years of experience
: Ability to work with Windows based applications.
