This job offers the opportunity to get involved in helping to integrate acquisitions at a Private Equity owned company that is growing by acquisition and to help with process improvement and upgrading of internal controls.   The incumbent was promoted into FP&A and the job has significant exposure to executive management.  

Job Description

The Senior Accountant will provide direct support for the recording and review of financial transactions as assigned by the Assistant Controller, including oversight of financial transactions flowing from subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger; assistance with the preparation, review and approval of general journal entries; assistance with the preparation and distribution of all periodic financial statements for external use; assuring that all reports, filings, and documentation complies with the company's regulations, professional standards, and GAAP;   and confirmation that all entries, transactions and accounts are accurately consolidated and are included in the external financial reports.   This position will assist with the preparation of monthly GL account reconciliations, the monthly reconciliations of acquired companies, and with the annual audit of the financial records.   The position is a 'hands-on' role working within a small accounting team and will work closely with the FP&A team, the compensation team, and the internal audit team.  

Qualifications

  • High potential individual, able to rise within the finance organization or move into other roles within a global company

  • Highly financially literate

  • Ability to work effectively under tight time constraints, and multi-task on various projects

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communicator - oral and written

  • Familiar with, or can quickly become familiar with, the company's operations and strategy

  • Quick on his/her feet

  • Takes a proactive approach, is energetic and works with a sense of urgency

  • Persuasive

  • Develops effective working relationships with all levels, functions and operations of the company

  • Focused on continuous improvement of processes

  • Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills (Power Query, Power Pivot and Power BI skills a plus)

  • Experience with structured ERP Systems

  • BS in Accounting or Finance with completed or working on MBA highly preferred

  • 3-5+ years of experience in accounting and financial reporting

  • Experience in distribution environment preferred
