Job Description
OVERVIEW:
The ideal candidate is a cross functional professional who can help drive changes in accounting, production and other areas of the business. The Continuous Improvement Specialist will analyze and measure the effectiveness of existing business processes and develop sustainable, repeatable and quantifiable business process improvements in conjunction with the current ERP system and align them with the goals of the organization in both an office and manufacturing setting. This person will maintain the business systems required to support day-to-day operations and business initiatives as well as support the exploration, development and implementation of new business unit initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prioritize MIS and process initiatives based on business needs.

  • Improve visibility and integration of MIS and process initiatives for the executive level of the organization.

  • Identify user needs and direct the building of MIS across all levels of the organization.
    Maintain all MIS and drive system strategy consistent with the business plan of the company.
    Act as one of the primary ERP super users.

  • Conduct ongoing internal process audits for all departments within the company.

  • Analyze all processes and workflows and provide ideas and direction to improve KPI's and overall business performance.

  • Track the status of ongoing improvement initiatives and coordinate input for senior leadership review and action.

  • Function in a multi-tasking environment that requires the ability to prioritize tasks and communicate impacts of analysis.

  • Research best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data.

  • Collect and analyze process data to initiate, develop and recommend business practices and procedures that focus on enhanced safety, increased productivity and reduced cost.

  • Determine how new information technologies can support re-engineering business processes.
    Act as a business analyst to understand requirements for the ERP system and various workflows.

  • Address support calls, training end users and developing/configuring solutions for end users.

Qualifications
Education/Experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance Accounting or similar field of study.

  • 0-5 years of relevant experience.

  • Knowledge of ERP systems (within manufacturing is a plus).

  • Have exposure to implementing and supporting multiple systems with the ability to generate metrics on efficiencies gained with these systems.

  • Experience with understanding and building business processes through systems.

  • Suggested experience in Lean/Industrial Manufacturing with demonstrated results.

  • Searches for reasons and causes. Enjoys root cause analysis and thorough problem solving with a technical mindset. Possesses ability to think about all the factors that might affect a situation and recommend practical and effective solutions.

  • Works effectively and maintains personal stability in dynamic, fast paced, team environment and reacts quickly to change.

  • May specialize in one or more of the following areas: process-driven systems requirements, benchmarking, business process analysis and/or re-engineering.

  • Lean Six Sigma experience preferred but not required.

  • Process / Control documentation experience.

  • Proven written and verbal presentation skills.

  • Synthesizes complex, multi-functional data into meaningful information for effective management action.

  • Works well with and through others - securing the willing cooperation from various individuals.

  • Analyzes relationships between several parts of a problem or situation and thinks ahead to the next several steps in detail to transform something strong into something superb.

  • Pro-actively seeks out feedback and adjusts future approaches, applying lessons learned in a disciplined way.

  • Demonstrates a passion and commitment even when faced with difficult situations.
