Contract to Hire Staff Accountant

  • Daily Accounts payables and receivables to include accurate posting of vendor bills; working with vendors' information to create, update, and address vendor issues/questions; invoicing; monthly vendor payments; maintaining company profile binders; collections.


  • Cash management functions to include preparing weekly check run; ach payments; daily banking functions as assigned.


  • Running reports to include month-end, aging, monthly budgets, balance sheet reconciliations and compiling various information per departmental requests.


  • Manage Paycor system for time tracking and payroll, serving as liaison between HumanResources and Accounting.


  • Process payroll bi-weekly for employees.



  • Back-up account receivable invoicing which may include:


- Process special billing every month.
- Prepare career transition invoices when needed.




  General office duties.

  • Special projects when available.

  • Must maintain a working knowledge of departmental and company accounting policies and procedures and be able to apply this knowledge to daily activities.

  • Performs other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Basic accounting knowledge; Associate's degree in Accounting preferred, experience will work in place of degree.

  • Three to five years of progressive experience in accounting or related field.

  • Experience processing payroll using payroll technology; experience with Paycor highly regarded.

  • Strong organization skills and detail-oriented, with a high level of accuracy.

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a busy work atmosphere

  • Self-starter, self-motivated to solve daily problems and think outside the box.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills.

  • Experience in small business environments with various functions and expectations.

  • Able to establish a positive rapport with vendors, coworkers and supervisors.

  • Excellent problem solving skills, computer skills and attention to details, proficiency with the Microsoft suite of productivity applications and working knowledge of QuickBooks and Excel strongly preferred.

  • Working knowledge of financial concepts, including plan, budget and P&L statements.
