US Accounting Manager
The US Accounting Manager directs and coordinates the daily activities of the accounting staff to quickly and accurately record the revenues, expenses, assets, and liabilities to the general ledger for the US Operations. This position is responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Manages monthly US financial close functions; supervises or prepares monthly journal entries
2. Reviews or prepares general ledger reconciliations for US Operations
3. Responsible for accounting procedures, internal controls (implementing, monitoring, enhancing, compliance), and database management
4. Communicates results to International Controller and US Plant Managers; to include: analytical reports, status reports
5. Processes COGS and performs monthly inventory reconciliations
6. Processes Insurance reconciliation
7. Performs Back-up Payroll processing
8. Assists yearly audit preparation for US Operations
9. Randomly audits work flow to assure that all accounting transactions are appropriately authorized.
10. Responsible for all supervisory functions related to department staff including safety and environmental compliance, overtime/vacation/absenteeism coverages, work force planning, personnel related issues, cross-training and performance management.
11. Follow company policies, procedures, and guidelines including the company handbook.
12. Offer plant/companywide continuous improvement suggestions.
13. Other duties as assigned by supervisor

: Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
: Licenses/Certifications: CPA, CMA or related Professional Experience

o Ability to meet tight deadlines and juggle multiple priorities
o Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and related accounting business system.
