Manager Accounting I
Provides professional accounting and financial analysis support with specific focus on Corporate operations. Gathers, organizes, and analyzes information in the completion of both routine and special assignments under varying amounts of guidance and direction. Interfaces with all levels of Operations, Marketing, Distribution, Real Estate, Corporate Accounting and General Office personnel in addressing financial questions, results, and variances and procedures. Supervises staff analysts and accountants. Primary responsibilities will include accounting support toward Corporate Departments (Human Resources, Compensation / Benefits, Legal / Insurance, Marketing, Information Technology, and Sourcing).
Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities
: Reports, analyzes and explains weekly estimates, quarter close results, interim reporting, quarterly projection, annual operating plan and other financial performance reports in a timely and accurate manner.
: Responsible for financial control and reporting associated with corporate business units including accruals, analytics, and processes surrounding Compensation / Benefits, Workers Compensation / General Liability / other insurance policies.
: Manages the period close process relating to corporate departments including Journal Entry approval, accruals, analysis, and reporting.
: Leads, coordinates and reports on special projects relating to operations analysis, accounting policy and procedures, best practices review, and other accounting and operational projects
: Prepares and gives finances and operational presentations to senior management
: Provides support towards coordination and preparation of key performance reports for operations and corporate management.
: Interacts on a regular basis with department leaders preparing reports, analysis, responding to inquiries
: Prepares various financial reports and analysis for various segments of the business specifically focusing on the company' s operations.
: Responsible for forecasting and budgeting within corporate department units.
: Partner with business leaders on initiatives to understand financial results, impacts, and opportunities for process improvement leading to improvements to bottom line results.
: Presents to business leaders including senior leadership concerning results and accounting issues.
: Assists in training and enhancing the skills of the accounting staff.
: Responsible for staffing, coaching, developing and performance management for direct reports.
: Responsible for evaluating, recommending, maintaining and monitoring appropriate internal controls.
: Review and approve updated policies and procedures in addition to internal control documentations.

Relevant Experience, Education, Certification, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
: Bachelor' s degree in Accounting or Finance, MBA preferred
: Eight or more years in accounting or finance environment; CPA preferred
: Excellent business writing, communicating and analytical skills
: Excellent PC and related spreadsheet application skills
: Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
: The ability to work effectively in a high growth environment and a rapidly changing organization.
: General knowledge of Accounting
: General Knowledge of financial analysis and reporting
: Experience with review and approvals
: Understands department policies, practices, and procedures
: Understands record management
: Understands month end close process management (journal entry approval; account reconciliation; AP related tax issues)
: Understand vendor invoices, statements, and other requests for payment
: Proficient with MS Office products
: Knowledge of computer and/or network security systems, applications, and techniques
: Able to work with web based applications
: Able to navigate the World Wide Web
: Proficient in working with a calculator
: Knowledge of Oracle Accounts Payable and Legacy Systems
: Ability to present to different levels of associates including management
: Ability to learn new applications
: Some travel may be required, depending on assigned area
: Most work is performed in a temperature-controlled office environment
: Incumbent may sit for long periods of time at desk or computer terminal
: Incumbent may use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday
: Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties
