Internal Control Analyst

Responsible for partnering with the business and other Finance professionals in fulfilling the requirements of internal control (and SOx 404) for the North American region including mapping of key processes, identifying risks and associated controls; and testing of key controls as part of the second-line of defense. Conducts high-level meetings with process owners and other Internal Control professionals, as well as manage reporting of design and operating effectiveness incidents. Certain transactional level-testing may also be required as a part of regular job duties.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
: Operating Effectiveness Testing - including testwork / documentation of test scripts, and deficiency identification
: Work closely with External Audit, Internal Audit, and department managers to ensure the timely completion of testing and identification of deficiencies
: Incident reporting management and key indicators monitoring and analysis
: Documentation of process flows
: Other testing related functions as part of the Bank's second-line-of-defense
: Complete all mandatory training
: Comply with code of conduct and Bank policies/ procedures
: Actively identify incidents outside of established policies and procedures and report to management immediately
: Must be familiar with and comply with laws, regulations and internal policies and procedures that are applicable to required job duties.
: Understands and complies with all anti-money laundering, compliance, and all other applicable laws.
: Internally: working with stakeholders from business lines and support departments that are deemed to be in scope for Internal Control or general testing
: Internally: Other members of the Bank's second-line-of-defense program including Quality Assurance, Account Certification, and Data Quality
: Externally: liasing with the external audit team, as well as certain external consultants retained to assist with testing of key controls.
: Globally: with our Internal Control and second-line-of-defense testing peers in Head Office and other regions
: Ability to clearly communicate (both verbally and written) to senior management, Head Office, external auditors, and business / line managers across the organization

Job Skills and Knowledge:
: Experience with testing controls identified via a SOX or internal control program
: Knowledge of bank lending/trading processes
: Clear and effective communication (written and verbal)
: Ability to work independently with minimum oversight
: Usage of Excel, Word, Powerpoint
: Internal Audit
: Public Accounting Experience
: Ability to effectively manage the Internal Control walkthrough and testing process, and possess the abilities/skillsets to participate in the broader finance "in control" program.
: Minimum of 2-5 years working experience in the financial sector preferably in a testing role.
: Minimum Bachelor degree, preferably in a business related concentration
Desirable: MBA, CPA
