: Lead a partnership with the Board of Directors and relevant communications and development consultants to devise and implement strategies and tactics to meet or exceed fundraising goals.
: Take ultimate responsibility for monitoring fundraising progress, evaluating results, and managing all team members to meet their goals, metrics and desired outcomes.
: Manage the Development Committee of the board in their role assisting the organization with fundraising and relationship development.
: Lead the team in refining donor cultivation opportunities to grow relationships with major individual and corporate donors.
: In collaboration with a contract grant writer, develop and manage relationships with private foundations, with the goal of developing and maintaining reliable sources of grant funding.
: Act as the public representative of Dignity Period to a wide range of audiences including media, present and potential supporters, community members, and others.
: Provide voice and vision for Dignity Period's various communications including web content, printed materials, and video products.
: Manage the Communications Committee of the board in their role assisting the organization with marketing, communications and media.
Leadership & Management
: Contribute to organization management and strategy-setting at the leadership level through weekly and other meetings.
: Contribute to financial management of Dignity Period, including annual organization budgeting and goal-setting, budget monitoring, and participation in or presentation to meetings of the board of directors including committees
: A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
: A strong track record of:
o Achieving tangible fundraising outcomes in a competitive field, and the ability to respond effectively to changing fundraising priorities
o Securing major gifts of $5, 000 or more
o Building and expanding a base of donor support
o Time, project and work plan management; prioritizing and managing multiple work streams with rapidly shifting external circumstances
: The confidence, warmth and professionalism required to work effectively with board members, donors, prospects, sponsors and other funders
: Energetic self-starter with a passion for fundraising who is inspired by the mission, vision and values of Dignity Period
: Visionary with a desire to build an enduring organization that grows exponentially over the next decade
: Good written and oral communications skills, especially for group presentations - this person will be expected to be the "public face" of DP
: Ability to learn and communicate medical material in lay terms
: Willingness to travel to Ethiopia (potentially elsewhere) periodically
